Clark Lee is an award-winning public affairs strategist, communications and public engagement professional, policy advisor, and lawyer with more than two decades of high-impact, results-proven, and mission-driven experience in public, nonprofit, political, and private sectors at local, state, and federal levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clark was a presidential appointee of President Biden - serving as senior advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Secretary\/Office for Civil Rights, and<\/span> performed the duties of principal deputy director and chief of staff in acting capacity. He advised and led strategic initiatives on advancing civil rights and privacy law implementation and enforcement, communications, congressional affairs, intergovernmental collaborations, federal rulemaking, policy, and public affairs. <\/p>\n

Previously, Clark was general counsel for a national voter engagement nonprofit; a director for two presidential nominating conventions; state director for a national climate action advocacy organization; political director for a state political party; and communications and political affairs director for the largest local political party in the nation. He has advised numerous elected officials, candidates, ballot measures, and nonprofits advancing policy issues, civic engagement, voter engagement, and access to community and social services. He has organized training programs and trained elected officials, candidates, professionals, advocates, and students.<\/p>\n

Clark served on the Los Angeles County Information Systems Commission and the Assessment Appeals Board; California Secretary of State's statutory Ballot Translation Advisory Group; and the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder\/County Clerk's Voting Systems Assessment Project Advisory Committee, Community Voter Outreach Committee, and Ballot Redesign Working Group.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clark has been recognized for his professional and civic engagement work. He is a recipient of a California State Assembly Resolution; the Southwestern Law School Judge Harry Pregerson Public Service Alumni Award; the <\/span>Claremont McKenna College Philip Roland Prize for Excellence in Public Affairs; the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) inaugural national 40 Under 40 Award and more than a dozen AAPC Pollie Awards, hailed as the \u201cOscars in political advertising;\" the Campaigns & Elections<\/em> Reed Awards and Rising Star; the National Association of Asian Pacifics in Politics and Public Affairs inaugural national 40 Under 40 recognition; the New Leaders Council 40 Under 40 Emerging Leaders Award; the California Democratic Party John F. Kennedy Jr. Award for Outstanding Public Service; the California Democratic Party Asian Pacific Islander Caucus Trailblazer Award; and the Los Angeles County Democratic Party Elivra Roberti Award for Lifetime Achievement.<\/p>\n
